The Bat! is a recognized email messaging system that perfectly combines all the features required by an experienced user and is available for download for free from diakov.net. Its intuitive interface allows The Bat! users to get started immediately after installation. An effective filtering and sorting engine helps handle the massive incoming mail flows that other programs struggle to handle. System administrators will appreciate the batch installation option, which allows for personalized control over The Bat! installation. All these features, along with fully customizable automated processing tools, free users from routine work.

Program features:
- A URL manager for background HTML image extraction. The introduction of a URL manager for background HTML image extraction is a response to the increasing incidence of malicious code infiltrating users’ computers through HTML messages containing graphics. The new manager allows you to block suspicious images and allow safe ones, extracting them based on the threat level of the host or URL of the incoming message, rather than based on the folder or recipient.
- Favorite Folders. Users now have a set of Favorite folders and addresses, allowing them to group folders by various criteria, regardless of mailbox affiliation. Users with multi-level message databases will appreciate the ability to quickly navigate to a specific message. For example, you can Favorite various work projects, frequently viewed folders, important unread messages, and so on.
- Address History. Address History allows users to track messages for each of their correspondents. The Address History setup wizard automatically collects information on recipients; users can then customize the Address History for specific recipients. Address History is managed in the “Addresses” tab of the folder view panel in the main window, and can also be combined with the Favorite Folders mentioned earlier.
- Updated interface. The modern design of the main windows will catch your eye at first glance. The title bars and white spaces of the windows are set against a pleasant gradient background, and unnecessary borders around graphical components that were previously cluttered have been removed. The accounts section of the status bar now has its own customizable pop-up menu, and the status bar itself now has an option to show/hide the account history.
- Improved MicroEd text editor. MicroEd’s text editor features now include Unicode support and the ability to use all system fonts. You can use different fonts for different message elements and drag-and-drop functionality across the entire system. We’ve also added a “Repeat” feature and simultaneous spell checking for multiple languages. Message text search features are now enhanced.
- Improved image viewing module. The image viewing module now allows users to view and switch between all images attached to an email. The module supports rotation, resizing and scaling algorithms, and full-screen mode. Additionally, the module supports JPEG images with CMYK and YCCK color space.
- More efficient technical support. We’ve introduced the %EMAIL% environment variable, which will facilitate technical support for the program. Typing “%EMAIL%” in the Windows Explorer address bar automatically takes you to The Bat! directory. This significantly simplifies technical support for the program—users can access The Bat! directly from Windows Explorer, regardless of the program directory.
- Smart security buttons in PGP and S/MIME messages. Buttons displayed in the main panel of PGP or S/MIME messages now display multiple message options. For example, if a message is signed and encrypted, you’ll see a single button that combines the “signature” and “encryption” icons.
- The menus on these buttons contain a complete list of actions applicable to the message (for example, decryption, displaying signature properties, importing certificates, etc.). The most important actions are highlighted in bold; these are the actions that will be performed when you left-click. If there is more than one such action, left-clicking will open a menu containing only these most important actions.
- Capitalization of recipient’s name. The first character of the recipient’s name is now automatically capitalized if only the recipient’s email address is known. For example, if you enter “diakov@diakov.net” in the “To” field, the new %TOFName macro processing algorithm will cause the email to begin with “Hello, diakov.”
- TNEF support. Some attachments in messages sent via Outlook were neither visible nor accessible from The Bat! because Outlook uses its own TNEF format for attached objects. These messages, unlike regular messages with attachments, do not contain either winmail.dat or message.att. The Bat! now supports this format.
Faster performance in The Bat!: Sorting messages by the “From,” “To,” or “Subject” fields is now five times faster. Furthermore, The Bat! now uses even fewer computer resources thanks to fixed memory leaks.
